Blue Monday

Anonymous asked: what do you do if you don't love the person you are with enough to stay with them forever, but enough that you want to be around them and not see them hurt. i feel like I'm suffocating...

truthfully.. this screams selfishness. If you don’t love them enough to give them everything they deserve and more then let them go. You can’t keep someone around just because sometimes you want them, knowing that you don’t want them long term. As mean as that sounds...I’ve felt like this many times also...it’s really hard to let someone go...but we can’t just be selfish at their expense.

Marie of Oignies (1167–1213) reportedly lived as a hermit, wore only white, cut off pieces of her body to expunge her desire, and both she and Beatrice of Nazareth claimed that not only did the smell of meat make them vomit, but also that the slightest whiff of food would cause their throats to close up entirely. godforsaken

I can’t escape the selfishness of this world and the people in it. It seems like unless i’m interested in you.. or your interested in me, you couldn’t care less about showing up, calling or hanging out. Since when did friendships diminish to such superficial capacities and people became only interested in the spark or attraction they feel for another. Are we really that pathetic that we need a love interest in order to feel fulfilled? I’ve realized that the only way to get your attention, is to go around professing my love and attraction to you all… and although this feels like a viable option at times - fuck you, I’d rather use my brain. When did we stop seeing people as people and only as objects that give us what we want and make us feel good.
